Quicksilver Scientific Appoints David Durkee Vice President Of New Ventures-2
Beverage industry Chemical Engineer poised to boost product line
Louisville, Colo. (June 22, 2020)—David Durkee, Ph.D., has been named Quicksilver Scientific’s Vice President of New Ventures after working for nearly a decade in a wide range of roles at Molson Coors Brewing Company. Quicksilver Scientific, a leader in the field of health and nutrition supplements, selected Durkee in part for his outstanding capacity for innovation in the beverage industry, an area where Quicksilver continues to expand. Durkee brings a wealth of experience in new business development, and his degree in chemical engineering signals a unique combination of experience and understanding.

As Vice President of New Ventures, Durkee identifies and engages new opportunities within the food and beverage, health & wellness and nutraceutical industries, to continue growing Quicksilver’s position as a trailblazer across these spaces. During his eight-year tenure at Molson Coors, Durkee worked in both the Denver and Golden, Colorado facilities as well as at the Toronto location. He spent the past two years building out the Toronto facility, including staffing and product development as well as exploring and securing new partnerships.

Durkee will also work with Quicksilver’s Research and Development team to formulate and acquire new beverages and otherwise grow the product line. In partnership with the Marketing and Accounting teams, he will develop and grow Quicksilver’s market segment as well as lead and mentor new talent at Quicksilver.
Durkee worked across several divisions within Molson Coors, heading up multiple platforms for global R&D across products, processes, and packaging. Prior to his tenure with Molson Coors, he was the Innovation Process Manager with Tate & Lyle in Decatur, Ill., where he implemented process changes to track portfolio metrics at a global level and cut costs in their Information Center while maintaining service quality. Durkee holds a postgraduate doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Durkee is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Physics Society.
